Laurens first day of school interview

Here is just a little snippit of Lauren's First Day of School.
And please leave a comment if you can interpret what book they read.
I still can't figure that one out....and I have listened to it at least 10 times!

the day that came to fast!

That is how I feel about this day.

For Lauren it was a day that could not have came soon enough.

School!!!!!

She was sooooo excited, but kept getting disappointed when I told her that she couldn't ride the bus.

Lauren said, "momma you stay here with Claire and I ride the bus to school."
Um okay if there was a bus.

Even if there was a bus, I don't think I would let her ride it. She is just too young I think for that!
So for now she gets to ride with her cool mom and sister to her school.  And that is fine by me!

A new do

A few weeks ago I finally broke down and did something that I didn't think that I would do for at least a couple of years.
I cut Lauren's hair.
Now for the people that have not seen her before, she had great hair.
It was just growing in a little odd.
She will have hair like me.  The back will grow oh so much quicker than the front.
Which kinda looked silly.
Insert possible mullet on cutie pie girl.
After all the wiggles and giggles...i think i did an okay job.
It may be a little crazy...but with her curls no one even knows.

Much better and Lauren even likes it! BONUS!

Oh no!

Note: Wrote this late last night (wednesday)...blogger didn't want to upload video...size was too big i guess.

I have already failed at my new resolution.  Last week has come and gone and this week...well it is almost the same!  I would totally buy time if I could...oh and could I get some coffee with that too!  Anyways, before I go to bed for the day I am going to give you a cute video of the girls.  That little Claire is a sneaky one.  She may look cute...but she does have alternative motives.  We adore and love her though...even Lauren does in this.  Enjoy!

The Great Reveal

When Randy came home today...he may have brought home Laurens most beloved object.
Her princess bank turned out perfect!
She may have a yellow eye and blue arms, but in the eyes of Lauren, she is the most beautiful princess.

My baby is 3!

Laurens birthday festivities started the day before her real birthday. We took her to see her first movie at a theater. We saw The Princess and the Frog. What a cute movie.
It was also a first for Randy and I as we went to see it at a theater which serves food and drink all while you enjoy a movie.
I also loved going to this theater because we didn't have to watch previews. I think they are a waste of time...as you can guess I get very impatient easily.
What a great idea for a family activity...note: next time we go we have to remember not to show up 30 min. before the movie starts!
On her actual birthday (which occurred on a Monday) Randy took off of work and we were able to have a family day.
So we had a special day where we all got to use our creativity. We all painted a piece of pottery. Lauren chose to paint a beautiful princess bank. Her style was more abstract.
Randy painted a platter that will fit in with our dinnerware.
And I painted a birthday plate which will be a special plate for the birthday girls. We were there for three hours and I could have spent the whole day creating wonderful things for our home. I want to make a return trip to make things for birthdays. Now we all have to be patient for a few days while our treasures are fired.

photoshoot #2 for the day

After we left Nana and Papas we headed next door for my parents house. Lauren needed a new dress since she used her watering can to fill the bird bath way too much and was soaked. So we were able to get some more shots of her. She was being particularly photogenic today...something that doesn't happen too often!

I think that she will always take the time to smell the flowers.

papa joe even got in on the action!

A big sister in the making!

Can you tell that I am going to have the "BEST" little helper around once the new baby comes. Lauren is super excited to have a baby come...not sure if she really knows what she is in for, but for now she loves to help out with her cousins Brooklyn and Talia.

off to the zoo we go!

It is hard to believe that we haven't been to the Milwaukee Zoo in a year. Lauren again loved all of the animals. Here favorite though were the rhinos and the monkeys. She was unsure of the fish though...probably because they are inside in a dark building.

Tuck your head and roll!

Lauren just started to be interested in doing somersaults...not sure where this came from, but she is quite well at doing them...just not that good at picking out spots to do them. She normally will start to do one right next to a piece of furniture and them she gets stuck. Gotta work on that placement!

My little reader

This is where you will find Lauren any given day while I get "ready" for the day. She loves to lounge in our bedroom reading chair. So fitting! She also uses this chair as a slide too! Wheeee~

One of her favorite books.
Another great book...thanks Target for those $1.00 deals!

Finally getting sleepy.

Making cookies

Baking with Lauren...so precise with her decorations.
Cheerios are not the best on a cookie the next day...kinda stale.
Acting like myself!

Can you tell I had fun? mmm
