A Childless Weekend

This weekend was the first this summer that Randy and I have had time together without Lauren...or our dog Lola. What a nice time we had. And knowing that they both were having a great time at Mimi and Papa Joe's was also nice! Thanks mom and dad! :) We ended up going to Summerfest which is a large musical festival...the biggest in the world! We arrived Satuday afternoon and walked the grounds. Then we noticed that there was this huge rain/storm cloud that was headed right for us. We decided that it maybe a good idea to take cover at Allison and Carsons home.. so away we went. Then we headed back after the downpour and met up with some more of our friends. We listened to Oldies 97 (i think that was their name) and then set off to see the BoDeans. Wow are those guys old! Didn't really know what they looked like. I had a cd of theirs in High School. But never really knew what they looked like. But they definitely know how to put on a great show...and Randy liked it because they played the only song he knew of theirs which was the FRIENDS theme song. They were alot of fun to listen to but we couldn't see them that good 'cuz we were far away. We headed home Sunday afternoon and took it easy for the rest of the night.

Almost all grown up!

Our little beach baby! Thank you allie and carson for such a fun pool!

Last Friday Lauren had her 15 month check up. She weighed in at 19 lbs. 15 oz. and was 29 inches long. Which means she still should be rear facing in the car seat! She also received 3 shots too! It never fails that she doesn't feel the first prick but the ones after that are the worse. She definitely lets you know that those are painful. So we came home and she went down for a nap. What a day for her.

She is becoming more independent everyday. She wants to close all of the doors by herself, she takes "baby" everywhere, she imitates alot of the things that we do, and she has shown us that she wants to use the big girl potty. That's right, she went on the big potty on Saturday! OMG my little girl is too small for this! For the most part she wants to just go on the potty to play with the toilet paper. I am very surprised because maybe this potty training will start earlier than I expected and maybe she will be trained before she is two. Good job L!

Finally!

So I haven't really been good at keeping up with this blogging thing...partly because it takes me some time to even do this and well that time is a precious commodity around here lately! So many of you have been wondering what our home looks like and have requested to see pictures.

Here is our home:
A home which looks older but has all of the modern conveniences.
A look from the front door.
Going upstairs.
1/2 Bath on main level.
Living Room
Awesome dining chairs at an awesome price at target. Clearance Sale...big Clearance Sale!
A kitchen just waiting to be broken into with some sauce making.
My very own workspace + Lola's new apartment.
Back patio...need something I think.
Going up....
Lauren's bath/guest bath
Our bedroom
Duel sinks...are the best! He has his mess and I have mine!
Randy's piece of heaven...okay mine too!
So there you have it! Lauren's room is still a work in progress only because I still want to paint and do window treatments in there...keep you posted on that. Otherwise we have just been enjoying our home.
This weekend was of course Father's day and well we spent it running errands and doing some yard work. Then we relaxed some.

Our little shopper!
Lauren's favorite ...smelling the flowers sniff sniff
Randy looking good carrying his pink bag.
Happy Father's Day Dada!

Catching Up!

We have been up to a little of this... saying good bye to this...

and smiling to our new home ;)
So I have been MIA for awhile now and well I sorta feel a bit more caught up on things. We moved into our new home 3 weeks ago today and from the second day on I have felt like we have already lived here for a couple of months now. This feels very good. We celebrated my birthday here. Which was a nice way to break in the house.

A beautiful fruit bowl complete with fruit~ Thanks Allie for thinking of everything!
Our move went very smoothly. It helps to have a great crew though too! We were able to pack our entire home into 2 U Hauls-the really big ones. We signed our papers and were off to our new home. We had everything unloaded by 4:30 and we ate dinner and we all were like now what do we do?
We had our sofa in our living room but no TV!

OMG! How were we going to survive the night?

Answer: Watch Grey's on Carson's laptop.
On Saturday we continued to unpack what seemed like an ocean of boxes in our garage. But something that needed more tending to than the garage was the overgrown hayfield in our backyard. My dad came to the rescue and left to go to S.B. for his awesome lawn mower. Sunday we had a cookout with family, which was so nice because it was the perfect day for it. Throughout our unpacking many of our neighbors have introduced themselves and we were told that there was going to be a block party for everyone to celebrate memorial day! So that night we went across the street to the neighbors home and met still some more of the nice people who live on our street. Lauren loved watching all of the little kids play and she fell in love with a bicycle which had streamers on the handles...Christmas present I think! We really feel welcomed in our new home and with such great neighbors who could ask for a better place!
Feeding "BABY"
Taking "BABY" for a W-A-L-K.Ms. Photogenic

Then Tuesday came along and Lauren and I left to go up to S.B. for a rummage sale. I know it seems a little crazy to be doing that especially since we haven't even been here for a week. But I had everything already up in S.B. and priced! So we just had to set up. We had a great time and I sold everything that I wanted to! I came home with just some clothes. Yeah!
Lauren is NOT for sale.Shopping for some treasures.

Now that we have been here for three weeks it is really nice to have most of our things out of boxes. We just have to decide now where to put things on the walls. Fun stuff.

I have started to sleep past my usual 5:30. Our bedroom is without window treatments (something on my "to do" list) so the sun comes up and then I can't sleep anymore. I think that the weather has something to do with that because it has been overcast the last week or so. My "to do" list has been growing lately and now I have moved from a small single sheet of paper to a whole notebook. Every night I go to bed thinking that I still have alot more to do. Which reminds me I still have to switch some addresses!!!

Whew long post!

Posting pictures of our home in on the "to do" list.
