It is here!

So the snow has finally fallen. I can't remember the last time that we had snow for Thanksgiving. Growing up there was always snow for the deer hunters at this time of year. We ended up with at least a good 2"-3". Randy even got to take the snow blower out since it was very wet and heavy snow. He had to leave for work so I had the job of clearing off the third stall part of the driveway with a shovel! Totally got a morning workout:) I just hope that I didn't twist my back out...kinda hurts right now...mmm maybe backrubs are in store for tonight!

My favorite picture for the month!
This past month has flown by extremely fast. Not only have we been busy around here, we have been gone practically every weekend (this past weekend was the exception) and I have been busy sewing stuff for my sister to sell and getting ready to make stuff for the holidays! I have only scratched the surface for the homemade gifts...can't go into details now!
Lauren has been a huge help around the house lately. She really enjoys to put in her two cents of effort. She is very good at sweeping the floor, feeding Lola our dog, picking up her toys and helping with setting the table. This is good news I hope for the future. Hopefully she will continue to WANT to do these things instead of me wanting her to do them. Her vocabulary has also grown. Although it takes me or Randy to interpret for others, she can now say about 20 words or more. She has just stuck to saying one word with the exception of telling Lola to "come here" and she pats her legs with her hands. She is just a little cutie!
I have also tried to potty train her this month with no success. I shouldn't say no success as she has had her good moments of telling us that she needs to go. But she has had her fair share of accidents too. I have decided not to push the issue because she has decided that she doesn't care if she is wearing wet panties...she will continue to sit on the floor and play. So that tells me that she is just not ready. I gave it a week and well with being gone alot it just isn't great timing. Hopefully next month we can give it a go.
We are really looking forward to her enjoying the holiday season. Last year she just loved to play with the bows on presents. This year I am thinking that I will let her help decorate cookies and hang ornaments on the tree. She may even have a part in designing our christmas cards too!
This weekend we are celebrating Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Should be a fun one. We are also probably going to helpin my brother and his wife move into their new home. How exciting a new home and a new baby on the way. Happy Thanksgiving!
Lauren just being herself LOL!

Welcome to the world Baby Brooklyn

Day One:

Day Two:

So to my sister Allison's dismay...she did not have a baby before Halloween. There are just some things that are sort of out of our control sometimes. However, on November 4th at 3:14 a.m. Brooklyn Marie Diltz came into their lives. She weighed in at 8lbs. 9oz. and I think 20 in. long. She was all cheeks when she was born-just like Allison's. They have since came down in size though.
We were there on that Monday and stayed the night to babysit their dog Jasper and none of us girls slept...we were all to anxious! At 3:45 a.m. we got a text message that she was here. Wow my sister is a mom and I am an Aunt and Lauren has her first cousin on my side of the family. How special is that! The next morning we all hurried ourselves to get dressed and got ready to meet her and see the proud parents at the hospital. So excited to meet the baby!
Lauren actually didn't have any problems with jealousy when she saw Baby Brooklyn. She actually thought that the baby was pretty cool. She was able to hold the baby and did quite well with being gentle. The next day we had asked Lauren what Baby Brooklyn sounded like and she let out this high pitched loud eeeee sound! Hum wonder where she got that from since Brooklyn doesn't really cry and if she does it is the tiniest wimper. Oh well leave it to Lauren!

Round Two!

So even though Halloween has come and gone, I thought that I would post pictures of our late night now (and because I know that some people..ah hem Aunt Nancy would love to see them!..sorry it has taken sooo long!)
So our night started out great. For the first time in many years...it didn't rain! On the contrary it was absolutely beautiful out. If I remember correctly it may have been almost 70 during the day! Wow! Once Randy got home Lauren transformed into her flower costume and we were out the door. We just made it around our circle and boy was it fun! Since I grew up in the country we had to ride our bikes to houses in the neighborhood...it was alot of work just to fill your pumpkin with candy. Here though you just have to walk a quarter of a mile...or less and it is full in a matter of 20 minutes! There were soooo many kids out too as well as adult that were dressed up. I wish I had the guts to take a picture of this dad dressed up as the Keebler Elf...he must have rented it and the mom was the Mrs. Kebbler Elf...how cute!
So after trick or treating we came back and handed out candy...this was the best part! Getting to see everyone dressed up was nice and Lauren loved handing out candy especially to our lanterns. mmm!
Then our candy was almost gone so we decided to take a little car ride and head over to my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Terry's house. They loved seeing Lauren all dressed up. Thanks Mark for giving Lauren her first beer! We stayed there for awhile and then back home it was and into bed. What a night!

So isn't it weird that I have begun every paragraph with so?
Happy Halloween!
